Amelia Strahan
journalist
I’m a reporter based in New Orleans, a city that never runs out of stories. Whether it’s a hurricane, a Super Bowl, or a crisis unfolding in real time, this city has taught me to move fast, think clearly, and report with heart under pressure.
This year alone, I’ve reported on the Bourbon Street terrorist attack, a historic snowstorm, and the escape of ten inmates from a New Orleans jail, stories that captured national attention.
I got my start along the Gulf Coast, where working in a smaller market taught me what it means to earn viewers’ trust and tell stories that matter.
Earlier in my career, I worked in production on Neil Cavuto: Coast to Coast at Fox Business Network in New York City, a role that taught me the value of journalistic integrity.
My first real taste of the national stage came during college, when I interned at the Weekend Today Show, an experience that showed me just how powerful great storytelling can be.
Growing up in small-town Mississippi taught me how to connect with people from all walks of life. It’s where I learned that great journalism doesn’t always come from big headlines. It comes from listening closely, showing up consistently, and earning trust one conversation at a time.
I love this work. I'm committed to getting it right, and getting it first.
